IWABE YUINO (結 乃 イ ワ ベ エ)

The man who originally appeared like a class thug should not be a generation with Boruto et al. Iwabe has not gone to class twice or passed the previous genin exam. The test that stops Iwabe from passing is not a test of strength, but a written test, because Iwabe is basically stupid about the lesson. Concerning the practice exam, he easily passed it and even managed to achieve the highest score, but his dislike of textbooks unrelated to ninjutsu prevented him from graduating.

IWABE YUINO (結 乃 イ ワ ベ エ)

As an older pupil, Iwabe looks taller than his classmates. Its height reaches 167 cm at its very young age. He always carries objects like a stick called "Jō". It was this weapon that Iwabe used when fighting, combined with the land element (Doton) that became his craft.

For Iwabe, strength is above all else. Therefore he looks arrogant to look at other academy students as a weak child who only use the era of peace and play with the name of the ninja. Although raised after the great war, Iwabe greatly admired the war era and believed that power is the key to being a great ninja. Because of this, he is very amazed at Naruto, who is the strongest ninja to become a hero in the big war first.

Iwabe hates the present era, the era in which the young shinobi only pursues studies and looks neglect of physical skills. Iwabe becomes a rebel, he is rude to every student younger than him. Iwabe even taunted Boruto as a child whose only name depends on his father. Iwabe also has a special grudge on Kirigakure, as he lost his grandfather who was killed by Yagura (the Fourth Mizukage) during the war era.

Iwabe's attitude changed completely after meeting Boruto. He sees Boruto's strong desire to refuse to surrender and to realize that Boruto does not want to be in the shadow of his father's big name. Iwabe's hard nature slowly faded before Boruto, even Boruto helped Iwabe to solve his problems all along. Iwabe's change to a better direction is recognized by Shino-sensei as his teacher.

Iwabe began to care about his classmates, they helped each other in the lessons for the graduation exam. Iwabe through the help of his friend became serious about learning written lessons. His once selfish fighting style also changed, he can now synchronize his techniques with the abilities of others.

Iwabe gets a special spot in the Boruto anime, as he is the only character who appears while watching the inauguration of Naruto as Hokage whereas previously there was no OVA. Since that moment, Iwabe was amazed and dreamed of being a strong and famous ninja like his idol, the Seventh Hokage.

After 2 years of being labeled an eternal student at the academy, Iwabe finally graduated and officially became Genin. He is now joining Team 5 with Denki and Metal. It's interesting to see how Iwabe's action will be shown in the anime of Boruto with his teammates.
